The Romanians, 1774-1866
The Romanians, 1774-1866 by Keith Hitchins
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
It's interesting to read a book about Romania written by an American. It's an outside perspective, different from what you see in the history manuals and it's different from the usual view. An American is usually unfamiliar with who is considered a hero in Romania, so everyone's actions are judged objectively, without that bias added to them. It's refreshing and sometimes disconcerting. It's a book that's well written and good to read.
